The AREST Client allows you to search for Sylogs audit records. You can search with multiple criteria for a single query parameter. The toolbar on the Syslog page displays the number of search results and also enables you to clear the search results.

To retrieve Syslog audit record from an audit record repository through a basic search statement, complete the following steps.

  1. To begin the search, in the left pane, click AREST CLIENT and click Syslogs.
  2. To build a search condition, in the Syslogs page, perform the following actions.
    1. Optional. In the Pri box, type the priority value of the Syslog wrapper and press Enter.
    2. Optional. In the Version box, type the version number of the Syslog protocol and press Enter.
    3. Optional. In the Host Name box, type the host name or the IP address of the Syslog message sender and press Enter.
    4. Optional. In the App Name box, type the device or application name that originated the message and press Enter.
    5. Optional. In the Process Id box, type the process ID of the Syslog sender and press Enter.
    6. Optional. In the Message Id box, type the message ID of the Syslog message and press Enter.
    7. In the Start Date Time field, click the calendar to set the start date and time from which you want to start the search.
    8. In the End Date Time box, click the calendar to set the end date and time till which you want to perform the search.
    9. To display the search result, click SEARCH.
      Note: To view the formatted structure of an audit record in the right pane, click the arrow icon . Alternatively, you can also click the record.
      Note: If the Show URL check box is selected in the Settings page, the Syslog service URI is displayed in a box.
