This function allows the user to select where the file containing the locking code information will be stored. This generates a unique code based on station name or IP address, which is used to create a license that is restricted to that location. There is also an option that allows the user to email the locking code directly from the application. The user may need to work with their IT department to get all of the needed mail server information.

To generate a machine locking code:

  1. In the Client License Utility main application screen, click Generate Machine Locking Code.
  2. Enter Company and Account ID info on the Customer Info dialog box and click Next.
  3. Select the Locking Criteria. The locking code is generated using the machine's UUID plus the machine name and/or IP address. The IP address should only be used if it is static. Values used in the Locking Criteria must not change. If any of the values change, the license will stop functioning.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Select the Storage Path for the locking code and the Email Options check box, then click Next on the Save locking code file dialog box. This locking code must be emailed to Hyland Software to generate the license file.
  6. Configure the Mail Server and click Next.
  7. Enter the From Address and Recipients address information and click Next.
  8. Ensure that all information is correct and click Finish.
