Settings in the PDF Import tab allow you to specify a primary and secondary engine for importing PDF files. If the primary engine fails the PDF image extraction process and a secondary engine is configured, then another attempt is made to process the PDF with the secondary engine.
To be imported successfully by the Nuance engine, a PDF file's security properties must be set to allow both printing and content copying of text, images, and other content. See the documentation for Adobe Acrobat for more information on PDF security settings.
