The Configure Patch Code Options window allows you to:

  • Specify that patch codes will be used for the Form Family

  • Configure how patch codes will be used

  • Print patch pages

Each tab in the Configure Patch Code Options window corresponds to a specific patch code type. If you are using CAPTUREit to detect the patch codes during post scan, it does not matter which type is used. Each type offers the same options. If you are using the scanner to detect patch codes, that is the Detect Patch Codes Post Scan option is selected, you must choose a patch code type that is supported by the scanner interface you are using.

If the profile's destination is OCR for AnyDoc, patch code configuration is performed in OCR for AnyDoc under Management | Form Family Management.

To configure patch code options in CAPTUREit:

  1. From Create New Capture Profile or Edit Capture Profile | Separation, click Patch Code Setup.

The Configure Patch Code Options window is displayed.

  2. Enter a number in the Left Offset to Center of Patch Code (inches) field to enter the distance from the left edge of the paper to the center of the patch code if you are using a scanner to detect patch code(s).
  3. Enable the Detect Patch Codes Post Scan check box to have CAPTUREit detect patch codes after scanning or importing. This feature is useful if you are scanning with another application, or using a scanner interface in CAPTUREit that does not support patch code recognition.
  4. To skip the processing of patch codes on batches that were scanned outside of CAPTUREit, select the Skip Patch Code Processing on Batches Not Scanned by AnyDoc.
  5. Click a patch code tab and enable Detect Patch Code to activate the patch code options.
  6. Enable the Delete Back Side of Patch Page check box, if needed. This is useful with duplex scanning and the back of the patch page is blank or unwanted. Enable this option only if you are scanning in duplex. Otherwise, the next image after the patch page is deleted.
  7. Select an option from the Patch Code Action drop down list to set what happens when a patch code is detected. Options include:
    • No Action: No action is taken when this patch code is detected.

    • New Batch: A new batch is created when this patch code is detected.

    • New Batch/DocSet: A new batch and document set is created when this patch code is detected.

    • New DocSet: A new document set is created when this patch code is detected.

    • Single Page DocSets: A one page document set is created when this patch code is detected.

    • Two Page DocSets: A two page document set is created when this patch code is detected.

  8. Select whether to delete or keep the image with the patch code from the Patch Page Type drop down list.
  9. Select an option from the Type Following Patch Page drop down list to determine what happens to all images following the patch page. Options include:
    • Attachment

All images will be made into attachment pages.

    • Delete

    • Keep

  10. Click Print to print the patch page.
  11. Click OK.
