Invert Text correction automatically detects areas of inverse (white-on-black) text and converts it into normal (black-on-white) text. It handles multiple inverse text zones on the page and inverse zones of various shapes, such as rectangles, circles, or ovals. At present, OCR engines cannot read inverse text. This option makes it possible.

Option

Description

Min. Blank on Edges

Sets the minimum horizontal length of the shortest run of black pixels along the left or right edges of any inverse zone. Decrease this value if inverse bands are missed, and increase it if normal text is treated as inverse text. Range 1-100

Min. Area Height

Sets the vertical height, in pixels, of the smallest expected band of inverse text. The default is 50 pixels (1/6 inch at 300 dpi). Decrease the setting if small inverse bands are being missed, and increase it if normal text is being treated as inverse. Range 1-20,000

Min. Area Width

Represents the horizontal width, in pixels, of the smallest inverse (black) zone that will be searched for. The default value is 300 pixels. Decrease this value if small inverse bands are being missed, and increase if normal text is being treated as inverse text. Range 1-20,000
