Image files created with other applications, such as fax software or a third-party scanning applications, can be imported manually into CAPTUREit for processing.

The Import directory and file name Import mask, such as *.TIF or *.*. for a capture profile are set in the Profile Options tab of the Create/Edit Capture Profile window.

If you are using OCR for AnyDoc for scanning or importing, you can easily switch to scanning/importing with CAPTUREit. All prompting controls and batch processing rules set up in the form family are used in CAPTUREit.

  1. Place the image files to import in the capture profile's Import directory.
  2. Select a capture profile in the Workflow Manager window.
  3. Click the Import button to begin the Import phase.
    Detailed information is displayed on the Phase Information pane while CAPTUREit is importing images.
  4. If the Import Type option on the Create/Edit Capture Profile | Profile Options tab is set to Prompt, the Import File Prompt window is displayed. If the Import File Prompt window is displayed do the following:
    1. Verify the Current Import Path is correct or enter the correct path.
    2. Verify the File Mask field is correct or enter the file name mask for the files to be imported. The default *.* means all file names and extensions are imported. To restrict importing to just .TIF files, for example, enter *.TIF.
    3. In the File Selection section, select the files to be imported and click the double arrow button.
    4. Information about the selected files is displayed in the Files Selected for Import section.
    5. Click OK.
  5. If the Batch Subfolder option on the Edit/Create New Capture Profile | Output Directory - Sub-Directory tab is set to Prompt at Scan/Import Time, the Batch Destination Sub-Folder Prompt window is displayed. Enter the name and location of the sub-directory to create.
