The options in the Image Quality tab are available to scanners without proprietary image quality settings. This tab is not available if TWAIN is the selected scanner interface.

Contrast |
Select the tolerance for the difference between the lightest and darkest image areas. If Percent is selected, enter the percentage number in the field to the right. |

Select the tolerance for the darkness of the image. If Percent is selected, enter the percentage number in the field to the right. |

Scan Mode |
Select the format of the image. Options include: Line Mode - Best for scanning text. Photo Mode - Best for scanning grayscale photographs or pictures. Mixed - Best for a combination of text and pictures. |
