Users and Groups are created, assigned permissions, and deleted in the Group Security Settings window. This window is accessed from the Management menu in CAPTUREit, which is only available if the user is logged into CAPTUREit as an Administrator with the required Administrator permission settings or from the Security Options dialog in CAPTUREit Server.

Groups are categorized by Site name and display all users in each group. If a group does not have a site name assigned, they are included in the (Global) category. If Administrative rights are granted to a user or group, an asterisk is displayed next to the user or group's name.

There is one system-defined group, Default. Default is the default group for all users. This group is mostly commonly used for routing profiles and for user security or for sites that do not want to define groups. This group does not have access to the administrative features, such as creating users or groups or defining security permissions.

Security permissions can be assigned at the user or group level.
