  1. To filter datawords based on syntax or formatting, select the following:

    Selections for Retain Datawords that:

    • Contain Some Letters

    • Contain Some Digits

    • Contain Some Punctuation

    • Contain Some Letters or Punctuation

    • Contain Some Digits or Punctuation

    • Contain Only Letters

    • Contain Only Digits

    • Contain Only Letters and Digits

    • Contain Only Punctuation

    • Contain Only Letters and Punctuation

    • Contain Only Digits and Punctuation

    There are several selections based on content as well. Only words that are consistent with the settings will be kept as possible solutions.

  2. To filter data words based on their string content, select the following:

    String filters are logical conditions that keep data strings for consideration as a solution.

    Field

    Description

    Start with the Strings

    Enter a word or series of characters to filter words or series of characters that start with this string. For example, enter 123 to filter 1234567.

    Precede the Strings

    Enter a word or series of characters that precede a word or series of characters to filter. For example, enter Freight to filter Shipping if it is found in the phrase Shipping Freight.

    Contain the Strings

    Enter a word or series of characters to filter words or series of characters that contain this string. For example, enter 123 to filter 456123789.

    Follow the Strings

    Enter a word or series of characters that follow a word or series of characters to filter. For example, enter Box to filter 987456 if it is found in the phrase Box 987456.

    End with the Strings

    Enter a word or series of characters to filter words or series of characters that end with this string. For example, enter 123 to filter 456789123.
