If your data has common substitution errors, such as a dollar sign always being returned as an S, you can use the Character Substitutions property in the Translations area to convert individual characters.

  1. To use this property, enter pairs of characters, all concatenated together.
The first character of each pair should be the character that you want to translate, and the second one should be the character that you want it translated to. So, for example, if you always want to convert an S to a dollar sign, and a O to a zero, you would enter $SO0 into this property.
  2. Press Enter.
