Configure the Zone Definition for a Recognition tool if the barcode or other detail will always be located in a specific location. If the Zone Definitions are not configured, the entire image will be OCR'd.

  1. In the Zone Definition area, click Image. The Zone Definition window is displayed.
  2. Click on the Select New Image File icon in the upper left corner.
  3. Locate the image and click on it.
  4. Once the form is highlighted, click Open. A message box opens that allows the image to be registered and de-skewed.
  5. Click Yes or No.
  6. Once the image loads, left-click and drag the area to be sent to the engine. The area will be displayed with a red square outline, which can be manipulated by dragging the sides to the desired location.
  7. Press Enter. The Zone Rectangle information is displayed.
