If the Infiniworx Setup Type is selected during installation, a database must then be set up using the Infiniworx Database Management wizard. If the Demo Setup Type is selected during installation, a demo database is automatically created during installation, but this demo database should not be used in production.

Steps

  1. In the Infiniworx installation directory, double-click the Infiniworx Database Management file. The Infiniworx Database Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. To create a new database, clear the Update this database check box and click Next. The Select A Database To Update window is displayed.
  3. To install a new database, make sure that the Install a new database check box is selected and click Next. The Install Database window is displayed.
  4. Select a Database Type. Options include:

    • Microsoft Access database

    • Use Other database source
  5. Depending on what you selected as a database type, do the following:
    • If you selected to used the Microsoft Access database, specify the Data Store location.
    • If you slected to Use Other database source, click the ellipsis (…) button and select a location. In the message box that displays, click Yes and enter a database name in the field provided.
  6. Select the Create Script File check box to create an installation script and specify the location where the script should be saved.
    Scripts can only be created for Oracle and SQL databases. Access to the database is required. If a script already exists at the selected location it will be deleted when the process starts.
  7. Click Next. Depending on which option you selected, one of the following is displayed:
    • If you selected Use Microsoft Access database, the Configure Access Database dialog box is displayed.

      Do the following to configure the access database:

      1. Select the ellipsis in the Path to database field to choose a path to an access database.
      2. Type a name for the database in the Name of database field. The default name is Infiniworx.
      3. Choose a database type.
      4. Click Next. The Verify Connection To The Access Database dialog box is displayed.
      5. Click the ellipsis to build the database and verify the string.
    • If you selected Use Other database source, the Configure Database Source dialog box is displayed.

      Do the following to configure a database source:

      1. Select the ellipsis to create a database connetcion. The Choose Connection String dialog box is displayed.
      2. Create the connection string by choosing the necessary items from the fields displayed on the dialog box.
      3. Click Test Connection to ensure that the database connection you created is valid.
      4. Click OK to save the connection string.
  8. Click Next to begin installing the database. The Install Database window is displayed and shows the progress of the database installation.

    When installation is complete, the Database Update Complete window is displayed.

  9. Select the check box if you want to set this database connection as the default for Infiniworx.
  10. Click Finish to close the Infiniworx Database Maintenance window.
