A job object is any file brought into the system or created during processing. Job objects can be images, documents, text files, database files, XML files, multipage images, etc.
Many tools in the Infiniworx system have two common properties: Job Object (In) and/or Job Object (Out). Any time a tool has to deal with a job object, a Job Object (In) must be designated.
The Properties tab of a tool utilizes two types of job objects:
-
Job Objects (In): This property defines the files brought into a tool for processing in the workflow. The options for the expected format vary from tool to tool.
None of the Import Tools have Job Objects (In) properties.
-
Job Objects (Out): This property defines the format of the files leaving a tool after processing in the workflow. The options for the format vary from tool to tool.
In the illustration below, there are several tools in the workflow. Job objects going in and out of tools must be configured.
Import tools do not have any job objects going into them.
Upon leaving the Import Images tool, an Original Image file is created. If a .tif file was imported, then the Original Image is a .tif file.

Note the following:
-
The Stop tool does not have any job objects going into it.
-
Infiniworx never gets rid of any job objects. Job objects are constantly created and are not destroyed until they arrive at the Stop Tool unless otherwise specified by an Export tool.
-
In the workflow example above, all the job objects listed below are available for output.
