If you do not have the Microsoft Script Debugger software, download it for free from: www.microsoft.com/downloads

Enter the keywords script debugger to find the Script Debugger software. There is one version for Windows 98 and ME, and another for Windows NT 4.0, 2000, and XP.

After the Script Debugger is installed, you may need to activate the debugger.

  1. From the Start menu, select Run, type regedit, and click OK.
  2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Script\Settings. You should see JITDebug in the right pane.
  3. Double-click JITDebug.
  4. In the Value data field, enter 1.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Exit Registry Editor.
