Each field’s definition includes a type: date, amount, integer, word, or phrase. Once values are entered, they are validated against the field type
| Type | Description |

| Date | Many date formats are recognized including date parts separated by different characters (dot, slash, hyphen, and so on), and with month names. |
| Amount | Digits separated by commas and dots. There should be two digits after the last decimal point. Currency designations - $ or USD, for example – are not permitted. |
| Integer | Digits only. |
| Word | Any characters but only a single word. |
| Phrase | Any number of words. |
