To create a learnset, complete the following steps.
Ensure that the Add trained documents to the learnset option is active on the Train Mode tab in the Settings dialog box.
- Switch to Document Input Selection - Batch.
- In the upper left pane, double-click the batch that contains the documents for your learnset.
- In the lower left pane, select the first document.

Switch to Train Mode.
The lower left pane on the Classes tab displays the number of documents in the learnset.

Complete the following substeps.
- If required, use the navigation bar in the toolbar to browse to the document that you want to add to the learnset.
- In the left pane, on the Classes tab, select a target class from the list in the lower pane.

In the toolbar, click the Add document to
Learnset
button to add the
current document to the classification learnset of the selected class.
The entry in the Class column in the upper pane of the Classes tab indicates that a document has been added. BIC writes a copy of the document to a protected directory structure that is reserved for learnsets.
- Repeat the previous step until you have assigned an adequate number of samples from the current document set.
- Repeat the previous steps to add documents for other classes.
- From the File menu, select Save Project.
