Advanced settings enable you to control which document text is searched, establish validation thresholds and enable secondary candidate evaluation. To configure the advanced settings, complete the following steps.
- On the Advancedtab, verify or modify the settings for Threshold and Distance.

Under
Search Areas, use the controls to define the
specific regions of the document from which text is searched. Complete the
following substep.
- Within each tab, First Page, Subsequent Pages, and Last Page, you can define up to two regions by entering Left, Top, Width and Height values. These values represent a percentage of the page size. The graphic at the right of each tab illustrates the defined regions.
Note: For single-page documents, only the First Page regions are applied. For a two-page document, First Page and Last Page regions are applied. Only for documents with 3 or more pages the Subsequent Pages regions are applied to all but the first and last pages. -
By default, the
Enable candidate evaluation using check box is
selected. This activates the secondary candidate evaluation. This feature
generally enhances candidate weighting. The document text which is used for
secondary candidate evaluation can be set to match that defined within
Search Areas, the text appearing on the first
page of the document, or all document text. Select one of the following
options.
- Above configured search areas.
- First page only.
- All pages of document.

Address Analysis is an alternative to the default secondary
candidate evaluation. To configure address analysis, complete the following
substeps.
Note: Using this alternative is not recommended.
- Clear Enable candidate evaluation using.
- Select Enable address analysis.
- If the phrase must exist on the document, select the Phrase is mandatory check box.
- In the table below, in the Phrase column, enter the phrase which you expect to find near the candidate text.
- In the Status column, select Incl. to include the candidates which appear near the phrase or select Excl. to exclude such candidates.
Note: Enable candidate evaluation using and Enable address analysis are mutually exclusive. If one of them is enabled, this automatically disables the other one.
