By default, a record which is very similar to a previous record in the same search pool is not considered when searching. Use the registry key value ASEnginePoolAllowedCharDifference to enable the ASE engine to return candidates that the engine perceived as duplicates of existing records. To create the registry key value, complete the following steps.
Note: This method applies only to local search pools. For a remote matching service,
refer to the documentation for the specific matching service.
- Launch the Windows registry editor.

Complete one of the following substeps.
- For a 32-bit machine, navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyland_BW\Cedar].
- For a 64-bit machine, navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hyland_BW\Cedar].
- In the right pane, right-click and then click .
- In the Name field, enter ASEnginePoolAllowedCharDifference and then click OK.
- Right-click the ASEnginePoolAllowedCharDifference value and then click Modify.
- In the Edit DWORD (32-bit) Value dialog box, in the Value data field, to enable the feature, enter zero:0.
- Re-analyze the document.
- Optional. To disable the feature, delete the registry key ASEnginePoolAllowedCharDifference.
