Field-level recognition settings affect the extraction steps. You
can use them to read the field again after the best candidate has been
selected. By this time, the format and the geometry of the field is well known.
Therefore, the OCR quality can be improved significantly by using a different
OCR engine or by imposing certain restrictions through classifiers.
To modify the field-level recognition settings, complete the following
steps.

Switch to
Definition Mode.

In the left pane, on the
Fields tab, select a field.

In the right pane, select the
Field tab.

If the current field is a derived field, and you do not want to
inherit the OCR settings of the parent class, clear
Use derived OCR settings.
This enables the remaining OCR parameters.

Optional. To activate OCR optimization, select
Read field again.

Optional. Click the
OCR settings button and then, in the
Field OCR Settings Properties dialog box, modify
the settings and then click
OK.

Optional. To activate the digit booster, select
Boost field.
