The Kadmos Preprocessing features are implemented for special usage only. In most cases, it is recommended to use the BIC preprocessing features. For more information, see Modify the Settings on the Preprocessing Tab.
- Noise removal
- The following noise removal settings are available.
- Automatic
- The Automatic setting for noise removal is based on an algorithm that will produce best results for many scenarios depending on the characters position, size and segmentation. For checks use the Automatic setting. Only adjust the settings manually if specific values are needed for well known cases.
- Relative [%]), Absolute [pixel]
- Select one of these options to reduce background noise on your documents manually. You need to select the Enabled check box and to specify the maximum size of spots that are removed, either using the pixel scale (Noise removal [pixel]), or as a fraction of the line thickness of the found characters (Noise removal [%]). The following size parameters are available.
- Diameter
- Maximum diameter of a spot
- Thickness
- Maximum horizontal length of a spot.
- Length
- Maximum vertical length of a spot.
- Object Removal
- Use this extension to remove lines or other geometrical shapes that could interfere with the OCR from the documents.
Note: For specific documents, it can be recommended to use Lines Manager or Despeckling as
Preprocessing first.
