To test the validation rules, complete the following steps.

1. Load the documents.
2. Switch to Verifier Test Mode.
   Because the current document is classified, the extraction / indexing user interface displays.
3. To test as many violations as possible with a limited number of documents, ensure that the Move to next document on validate button is not pressed.
4. To activate the first field, press Tab.
5. Test the field validation rules as follows, and observe the messages in the status bar.
   Note: Any validation errors display in the status bar.
   • If the field contains OCR rejects, correct them and press Enter to confirm each corrected character. You should not be able to validate the field if rejects are forbidden.
   • If applicable, insert strings that are too long or too short. You should not be able to validate the field unless the number of characters is within the valid range.
   • If applicable, insert some invalid characters and observe if they are discarded automatically.
   • If applicable, insert some characters in the wrong case and observe if they convert automatically.
   • If possible, insert some invalid input and try a forced validation by pressing Enter three times. If this is permitted, a message box displays. Click No to interrupt the forced validation.
6. Without validating the field, press Tab to move to the next field and then repeat the previous step.
