The Output Settings tab is only available if the user has the Assign Printer to Document (19) right.

Users can only change the output settings if ChangingAllowed is set to True in the Print definition property of the document in Content Composer Studio.

To specify the output settings of a document:

  1. From the Communications pane, select a communication.
    The Communications pane opens.
  2. Select a document.
  3. In the right pane, click the Output Settings tab.
Note: Each output setting of a document has its own URL that you can share with other users.
  4. Select the Print Time from the drop-down list.
    • Direct: Output processing generates a stack with all documents of the communication template. Use this option to only print or email the documents.
    • Shifted: Output processing processes the documents in the communication template as independent documents. Use this option if you need to implement post-processing of documents.
    • Local: Use this option to print documents to a local printer.
  5. Select a Printer from the drop-down list.
  6. Select a Form from the drop-down list.
Note: Printer and Form values are interdependent. To reset them, select the empty entry in the list.
  7. Optional. If the document is a copy, you can enter a text in the Text on Copy field. This field is disabled for original documents.
Note: For this feature to work, the document must have a Content Control CopyLabel. For more information, see The Content Control CopyLabel chapter in the Content Composer Studio Help.
  8. Optional. In the Number of Copies field, enter a number.
  9. Click Save.
