Use the Administration Portal to reset the client secret for a service application. This task generates a new client secret, which the integrating service can use to request authentication tokens.

To reset the client secret for a service application:

  1. Open the Administration Portal.
  2. Select the Identity tab under the banner.
  3. In the sidebar, click External Applications.
  4. Select the service application you want to edit.
    The application configuration page is displayed.
  5. Under Application Secret, click Reset Secret.
    The Reset Client Secret dialog box is displayed.
  6. Click Reset Secret to reset the client secret.
    A confirmation page displays the new client secret for the service application.
  7. Click Copy to copy the new client secret.
  8. Record the client secret in a secure location.
    The client secret must be shared with the integrating service to allow it to request authentication tokens to interact with Hyland Experience.
  9. Click Close to close the dialog box.
  10. Click Close to close the configuration page.
