This activity provides a wizard that you can use to set up a REST API connection for JSON documents which are aligned with the Open API Specification 2.0 and 3.0.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Drag the activity to your workflow and then click Edit.
  2. In the OpenAPI Request Activity wizard, in the URL/File field, enter the URL in one of the following ways:

    • Select the server from the drop-down list.

    • Click the ellipsis button and browse to a JSON file.

    • Manually enter the URL.


  4. Select the required operation from the list.
    Note: To view more information about the operation, click the arrow on the right.
  5. If required, enter the parameters for the operation and then click Next.
  6. The activity automatically detects the available authentication methods. If more than authentication method is available, select the required method from the drop-down list.
    Note: Hyland RPA supports OAuth 2.0, API Key, and basic authentication.
  7. Enter Username, Password, Client ID, and Client Secret in the appropriate fields and then click Next.
  8. Enter Response Body, Response Header, and Status Code in the appropriate fields and then click OK.
