Due to its nature of deep system integration, besides the general prerequisites of Hyland RPA, there are some additional system requirements, which must be fulfilled.

These requirements are driven by Windows and how it allows interaction with the logon and authentication processes. Perform the following steps to configure your local system:

In case domain policies provide these settings, the domain administrator must set the required permissions.

  1. Computer Policy
    1. Execute gpedit.msc.
    2. Browse to Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / Control Pane / Personalization.

    3. Enable Do not display the lock screen.

  2. Security Options
    1. Execute secpol.msc.
    2. Navigate to Local Policies / Security Options.

    3. Set the Security Setting of Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL + ALT + DEL to Enabled.
    4. Set the Security Setting of Interactive logon: Message text for users attempting to log on to empty text.
    5. Set the Security Setting of Interactive logon: Message title for users attempting to log on to empty text.
    6. Optional: Set the Security Setting of Interactive logon: Machine inactivity limit to Not Defined or 0.

This setting is highly recommended to avoid errors caused by a locked screen.

In addition, you also need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable Package:

Windows 10 introduced a new feature called "Winlogon automatic restart sign-on (ARSO)" allowing to "finish setting up devices after an update or restart" by signing in users automatically in the background. This often causes some trouble as Windows is reporting an active session, although you can not see it and you do not expect it (for example, after a reboot). This feature will be disabled automatically by registering the Credential Provider. For more information see Winlogon automatic restart sign-on (ARSO) on docs.microsoft.com.
