In the Variables pane, you can create, rename, and delete variables, as well as add annotations to variables.

  • To create a variable:
    1. In the Variables pane, click Create Variable.
    2. In the Name column, enter a name for the variable.
    3. From the Variable type list, select the required type.
    4. (Optional) In the Default column, enter a default value.
  • To rename a variable:
    1. Right-click the variable and select Rename variable.
      The Rename Variable dialog box is displayed.
    2. Enter a new name for the variable.
    3. To rename the variable in all scopes and activities where the variable is used, leave Rename in all Activities selected.
    4. Click Okay.
  • To delete a variable, right-click the variable and select Delete.
  • To add an annotation:
    1. Right-click the variable and select Add Annotation.
      The Add Annotation dialog box is displayed.
    2. Enter the annotation and then click OK.
  • To edit an annotation:
    1. Right-click the variable and select Edit Annotation.
      The Edit Annotation dialog box is displayed.
    2. Modify the annotation and then click OK.
  • To delete an annotation, right-click the variable and then click Delete Annotation.
