In the Variable Management pane, you can create, rename, and delete variables, as well as add annotations to variables.

  • To access the Variable Management dialog box, on the ribbon, click .
    The Variable Management dialog box is displayed.
  • To add a variable:
    1. In the upper right corner, click Add.
    2. In the Name column, enter a name for the variable.
    3. From the Type list, select the required type.
    4. (Optional) In the Default Value column, enter a default value.
  • To rename a variable:
    1. Select the variable and then click .
      The Rename Variable dialog box is displayed.
    2. Enter a new name for the variable.
    3. To rename the variable in all scopes and activities where the variable is used, leave Rename in all Activities selected.
    4. To define the renamed activities and scopes, clear Rename in all Activities and select the activities where you want to rename the variable.
    5. Click Okay
  • To browse for additional variable types:
    1. From the Type list, select Browse for Types.
      The Browse and Select a .Net Type dialog box is displayed.
    2. Select the required type and then click OK.
  • To delete a variable, right-click the variable and click .
