Hyland RPA Designer is a drag-and-drop process workflow builder designed to make process automation implementation as intuitive as possible. With RPA Designer, you can either edit process flows from Hyland RPA Analyst or design them from scratch.

To automate processes, the RPA Designer provides a variety of ways to structure workflows.

Well-designed processes are not just about automation - they are designed to serve three general purposes:

  • Stability
  • Efficiency
  • Reusability

Since automation begins where humans are no longer needed, a robust process design is the foundation of any RPA project.

Although speed is not the primary goal of an RPA project, processes should be developed efficiently. Efficiency refers to both processing time and maintenance, since once a process is developed, other people will be working with the developed script.

The reusability of process flows should be considered from the beginning of the process design in order to take advantage of significant synergy effects.

The fundamental characteristics of RPA Designer therefore lead to the need to define a standard to guide users in the development of processes.

During development, it may not be possible to meet certain criteria of the provided standard. In such cases, it is necessary to document deviations as accurately as possible so that others can still understand the process in detail.

How It Works

Hyland RPA Designer enables the user to mimic all interactions between the user and the applications by allowing to rebuild and edit the corresponding click, write, or read activities in the workflow panel.

Our goal is to make automation as easy as possible.

The simple drag-and-drop user interface allows to configure processes without any programming knowledge - similar to the modular systems used for websites. While drag-and-drop and no-code are essential for ease of use, the ability to import process documentation from the complementary Hyland RPA Analyst opens up new possibilities for unlocking the full potential of Hyland RPA Designer. The software recognizes the stored technical process information, and selection values, automatically assembles the appropriate activities into a workflow and models it in the building pane. Reduced activity elements also contribute to clarity.

To further increase the speed of implementation for future projects, standardized process elements (Artifacts) and parts ( microbots) can be stored and reused. " Pop-up Watcher" and other important activities can be added during implementation to improve exception handling and thus significantly reduce the susceptibility of software robots to errors.

The output of RPA Designer is a finished process script that can be executed by software robots.

Benefits

The result is a faster implementation of process automation. In RPA Designer, manual process modeling can be automatically accelerated through RPA Analyst imports. This documented understanding of the process eliminates information asymmetries and reduces susceptibility to post-modeling errors. Simplified usability also drives process script composition.
