To add a new Windows Firewall rule so that the firewall
does not block the SQL Server communication:
- In Windows Control Panel, select Windows Defender Firewall.
- In the left pane, select Advanced settings.
- In the Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security window, in the left pane, select Inbound Rules.
- In the right pane, select New Rule.
- In the New Inbound Rule Wizard dialog box, select Port and then click Next.

In the
Protocol and Ports pane:
- Select TCP.
- Select Specific local ports and enter 1433, or the port you used and then click Next.
- In the Action pane, select Allow the connection and click then click Next.
- In the Profile pane, select Domain, clear both Private and Public and then click Next.
- In the Name pane, in the Name field, enter SQL Server Port 1433 and then click Finish.
