Before you can create Client credentials, you must first create the consent screen for OAuth credentials.

To create the OAuth consent screen:

  1. From the APIs & Services Dashboard screen, select OAuth consent screen from the side pane. The OAuth consent screen is displayed.
  2. Select External to create an external user type. This is the only option that can be used that does not require a Google Suite user account.
  3. Click Create. The OAuth consent screen displays with the application information displayed.
  4. In the Application name field, type the name of the application that is asking for consent. This name is the name that is shown to the users. You can name the application the same name as the project you created.
  5. Click Save. The OAuth Consent screen for the application you created is displayed.
