A video\audio source such as a camera, satellite or cable feed provides an encoder with media data. An encoder receives the data stream and compresses it to a media format. An encoder may be a hardware rack unit, a box unit, or a PC with a capture card, along with additional software to output media to a specific format.
For all encoders, the keyframe setting should be set to 2 seconds. For encoders that accept a time value for the keyframes, the value should be set to 2 seconds. For encoders that accept a frame value such as "GOP Structure" or "Frame Count," you will need to multiply your frame rate times the desired keyframe rate to get the proper value. For example, at a frame rate of 30 FPS, setting the GOP structure or Frame Count to 60 frames will result in a keyframe every 2 seconds (30 x 2 = 60).
Regardless of the source of the raw video or raw audio, the Media Publisher suite expects the encoder to output an H264 video and AAC audio stream wrapped in RTMP packets.

With the Wirecast software encoder, b-frames will cause playback issues. Remove b-frames in the encoder settings, before streaming.

If you would like to implement closed captions for your media files, the captions must be sent to the encoder using the CEA-608 caption standard (also known as Line 21 Captions and EIA-608) via SDI video input or BNC video input. The CEA-708 standard is not currently supported. HDMI video input of captions is not currently supported. You should also be using one of the following encoders that Hyland supports for use with Closed Captioning:
