VB Scripts provide a powerful and easy way for manipulating documents and their associated keywords when functionality outside of the provided user-interface is required. VB Scripts are used to invoke fragments of BASIC code to perform user-customized operations on selected documents.

Scripts can be written to execute customized processing within the document management system, or can be written to interact either with other programs that are integrated with the document management system.

VB Scripts are configured from the Custom Queries menu option in the Configuration module. They are executed by right-clicking on an open document, right-clicking on a document hit list, or through Workflow Actions.

  1. In the Configuration module, select Queries | VB Scripts to access the VB Scripts dialog box.
  2. To add a new script, enter the name of the script into the VB Script Name field and click Create. This will add the new script to the VB Script Name list.
  3. You are prompted to assign user group access to the script. Select one or more user groups from the Available Groups list and click Add. Remove a user group by selecting it and clicking Remove. Click Close when you are done assigning access.
  4. To make a change in the user group assignment after the initial assignment, click User Group. Select one or more user groups from the Available Groups list and click Add>>. Remove a user group by selecting it and clicking Remove. Click Close when you are done assigning access.
