Prior to installing Bar Code Processing, you should ensure that your workstation meets the following qualifications:
-
Workstations using the Hyland Bar Code Recognition software must have at least a 24-bit color video adapter running in at least 24-bit color mode.
-
When using Bar Code Processing with scanning, for best results it is recommended that all required OnBase files and executables be installed locally, on the scanning workstation, compared to accessing the OnBase Client application over the network via a shortcut.
In addition, the following items should be considered:
-
Decide how the bar codes will be produced, how documents will be prepared to include the bar code, and where the bar codes will be placed.
-
Discuss the purpose of the bar codes (that is, Keywords Values, Document Types, or both) and determine how many bar codes will be placed on each document.
-
By default, to perform bar code processing or patch code recognition at the time of scanning in the Unity Client, the Hyland Bar Code Recognition software must be installed on the same server that hosts the OnBase Application Server.
