Bar codes are used to automatically and accurately assign Keyword Values to documents. Bar Code Processing can be performed when scanning or sweeping image documents via the Document Imaging for the OnBase Client, Document Imaging for the Unity Client, or Disconnected Scanning modules, or via batch processing in a scan queue.
Bar Code Processing provides a faster and more accurate way of indexing documents. Bar codes may also be used to identify the Document Type or to serve as a separator page that signals the beginning of a new document in a package of mixed documents.
Bar Code Processing can be initiated in conjunction with the Document Imaging module (that is, when used within the OnBase Client or the Unity Client), either on a document-by-document basis at the time of scanning or by the batch in a scan queue.
Bar Code Processing can also be initiated in conjunction with the Disconnected Scanning module on a document-by-document basis at the time of scanning.
Bar codes are placed on documents by third-party products, or they can be generated in OnBase via the Bar Code Generator.
