The File Transmission tab of the Branch Capture Scanning Client Settings dialog box contains configuration options that allow you to set the location of files after they are scanned and, optionally, encoded.
Option |
Description |
---|---|
UNC Directory |
Enter the path of the folder that the OnBase Client searches for transmitted document data files to process. The path can be entered manually or selected by clicking the Browse button. |
Transmit Directory |
Enter the path of the parent folder that document data files that have been transmitted to the OnBase Client module are copied to so that they are available to the scanning client in the Batch view. A sub-folders is automatically created under the parent folder for each day the scanning client is used to transmit batches. This folder is used to store the document data files that were transmitted that day and the .xml file; this is file that must be selected in the scanning client to view the batch for that date. Note:
Batch information from before the Branch Capture scanning client version 3.1.0.0 was run for the first time is stored in a single folder named Before_<Date>. Select the Delete Transmit and Log Files after # days. check box to specify a retention period for the transmitted files and log files. Type a number of days from 0 to 3650 (i.e., 10 years). The files selected for deletion are removed when the Branch Capture scanning Client is started. Modifications to the retention period do not go into effect until the Branch Capture scanning Client is restarted. CAUTION:
Deleted files cannot be recovered. |
Transmit File Type |
Select the radio button that describes the document data file that you would like Branch Capture to create: OnBase Client (.xml). Select this option to create an XML data file. COLD Report (.txt). Select this option if you would like only the Batch Report to be processed via COLD/ERM processor and imported into OnBase. Note:
While the data file is in transit to the OnBase Client, its file format is set as xmt_xml or xmt_txt. This prevents partially-transmitted files from being processed. Note:
Beginning in Branch Capture 4.0, the legacy Branch Capture check data file types are no longer supported. |
Auto Transmit |
Select one of these options to determine how Branch Capture will automatically transmit batches to the OnBase Client module: No Auto Transmit. Batches always must be manually transmitted to the OnBase Client. After Batch Scan (Immediate Encoding Allowed Before Transit). Select to automatically transmit a scanned batch when the Stop Scanning toolbar button is clicked. If the Batch Encoding toolbar button is clicked instead of Stop Scanning, the batch is displayed in Batch Encoding view so the documents in the batch can be viewed, but the batch is transmitted when you exit Batch Encoding view. Note:
This option is not available if the Transmit Only Balanced Batches restriction option is selected. Tip:
This option should be used if balancing is not performed locally and the user does not want to review batch information. After Batch Encoding Viewed. Select to automatically transmit the batch after you exit Batch Encoding view. This option, unlike After Batch Scan (Immediate Encoding Allowed Before Transit, requires that you review each batch before transmit. Note:
This option is not available if the Transmit Only Balanced Batches restriction option is selected. Tip:
This option should be used if balancing is not performed locally and the user is required to review batch information. After Batch Balanced. Select to automatically transmit a batch once it is marked as balanced. On Application Close - Prompt. Select to prompt the user if he/she would like to transmit all batches when the scanning client is closed. On Application Close - No Prompt.
