Partial references and full references are used in the export customization interface, and determine the extent to which configuration items are included in a given package file. It is important to understand the difference between partial and full references as they pertain to export and import. A referenced item is the target of a reference. For example, when a Document Type is configured to reference a Keyword Type, the Keyword Type is the target of the reference.
