By default, automated backups are started after a five-minute delay, initiated at the time volumes in the pending backup queue are found. This is to ensure that automated backups do not initiate before the documents in the volume have been fully archived.

To change the amount of time for the delay between when volumes for a backup are detected and the backup actually begins, append the -AWDELAY="x" switch to the Client shortcut, where x is the number of minutes to delay the backup. The value must be a positive integer greater than or equal to 1.

Tip:

In general, if you are completing a large back-file conversion with automated backups, the -AWDELAY value should be less than 5 in order to allow the backups to complete faster.
