This section includes information on security at the Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) layer and information on the High Security model. The RDBMS authentication layer both permits authentication of the user for the OnBase database and determines the data privileges of the user. Introduced in OnBase 18, the High Security model is designed to address general information security concerns and support new authentication methods for usage-oriented OnBase database access. The model details the roles, permissions, and privileges required by OnBase database users.
The security model used in versions of OnBase prior to 18 is referred to as the Legacy Security model. For information on upgrading from the Legacy Security model, see Legacy Security Model.
