The following should be considered with regard to security:
-
Solutions created on versions of OnBase prior to 18 must not be migrated to the High Security model until all clients and Application Servers have been upgraded to version 18 or higher.
In the case of a parallel upgrade (IPUP) from a version of OnBase prior to 18, the Legacy Security model must be used until the upgrade to OnBase Foundation 23.1 or higher has been finalized. Clients or Application Servers of OnBase 17 and earlier must not be in use during this process.
-
After upgrading from a version of OnBase prior to 18, you can use the RecreateDBUsersHighSecurity application to facilitate the migration to the High Security model. For more information on how to use the RecreateDBUsersHighSecurity application, see RecreateDBUsersHighSecurity.
-
When upgrading from a version of OnBase prior to 18, workstation account creation is not disabled by default. Workstation account creation can be disabled using the OnBase Configuration module. For more information, see the System Administration module reference guide.
-
The High Security model reduces the control certain accounts have over the OnBase database. When upgrading from a version of OnBase prior to 18, it may be necessary to manually revoke permissions and roles assigned to database accounts that were created using the Legacy Security model.
