When system or hardware failure occurs, it is possible to lose a portion of OnBase data. Data can be lost from the OnBase Disk Groups, the OnBase database, or both. In such cases, the OnBase solution can become inconsistent. For example, document metadata may exist in the OnBase database, but the physical files referenced in the database may have been lost. Alternatively, physical files may exist in the Disk Group, but the metadata for those documents may not be in the OnBase database.

In these cases, it is necessary to synchronize the database and Disk Groups to create a consistent state. Once in a consistent state, the system will be fully operational and accessible to users.

If you experience a disaster that causes a partial loss of the OnBase database, Disk Groups, or both, contact your solution provider immediately to obtain assistance in determining a recovery strategy.
