Some systems, especially those with teaching hospitals, may have a high rate of physician turnover. However, physicians cannot be deleted entirely from OnBase because the physicians' information is preserved for reporting, chart searches, and historical chart demographics. To keep physician lists up to date in the various OnBase clients, you can deactivate physicians who have left the system.

Note:

Physicians who have outstanding deficiencies cannot be deactivated in OnBase.

The best practice for deactivating physician accounts is to delete the associated user account by using the Medical Records Unity Client or OnBase Configuration. When a physician's user account is deleted from OnBase, the user account is labeled as deactivated in the Physician Information Settings dialog box.
