The following table describes the types of messages that are logged to each of the tabs in the Diagnostics Console. For a message to be logged to the Diagnostics Console, the profile of the message must not be excluded and the LogLevel of the message must be within the boundaries of the minimum-level and maximum-level defined in the web.config file.

Log Name

Description

ASP.NET

Displays all ASP.NET calls made to the server, the OnBase user who initiated the calls (if applicable), and the approximate amount of time they take to complete.

Cache Activity

Displays Application Server calls that add or retrieve information from the item cache.

Change Control

Displays messages logged during Import/Export processes.

Configuration

Displays messages logged by OnBase Studio.

Database

Displays queries run through Hyland.Data, the OnBase user who initiated the queries (if applicable), and the approximate amount of time they take to complete.

Errors

Displays errors. This log cannot be disabled.

File

Displays file requests to the OnBase disk groups and the OnBase user who initiated the requests (if applicable). Platter management messages are also logged here.

Full Text

Displays batch information for the Full Text Indexing Service. Logged messages include the action of starting a catalog and the number of items indexed.

HL7

Displays messages and errors logged by the OnBase HL7 modules, including the HL7 version 3 services. Also displays startup messages and notes for the HL7 Listener, HL7 Auto-Sender, and HL7 Processors.

LDAP/NT Authentication

Displays all Active Directory and LDAP diagnostics information.

Lock Activity

Displays attempts to lock and unlock items in OnBase.

Report Services Trace

Displays Report Services messages.

Script Exceptions

Displays errors that occur in client-side script code, providing consistent and centralized information about exceptions from Web Clients. These errors are logged by the Web Server when the Diagnostics Console is monitoring the Web Server machine.

The User Agent column in this tab displays the User Agent String reported by the client browser, and the URL column displays the location of the page where the exception occurred.

Script Trace

Displays output information for WorkView scripts.

Service

Displays all Hyland.Services requests and the approximate amount of time they take to complete.

System Warnings

Displays warning messages for conditions that do not trigger an error, but which may indicate an invalid setting. For example, this tab may display information about incorrectly configured OBKey fields in an E-Form.

Thick Client Services

Displays messages from OnBase Client processes running as Windows services on the same machine as the Diagnostics Service.

Thick Client Verbose

Displays messages from OnBase Client processes running as Windows services and verbose output from the OnBase Client.

Timer/Distribution Service

Displays information from the Hyland Timer Service and the Hyland Distribution Service.

Trace Viewer

Displays trace information.

Unity API

Displays diagnostics information from the Unity API.

WCF

Displays traffic from the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) framework related to the Transfer Batch Handler Service.

Web Service

Displays Web service XML from service-oriented architecture (SOA) components.

Note:

The IpAddress column displays the IP address of the module that is generating the Web service traffic. For example, if the Web Server is generating the Web service traffic, the IP address of the Web Server machine is displayed.

Workflow Trace

Displays trace information and script execution messages related to OnBase Workflow.

Note:

If the server you are monitoring has both Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) enabled, then the IpAddress and MachineName columns will display the IPv6 address, not the IPv4 address.
