The Diagnostics Console preserves data integrity by displaying information exactly as it is received from the sending application. Because this information may be difficult to read in its original formatting, the Diagnostics Console provides the Detail View window, which lets you format, decode, and copy logged data. Detail View provides a safe environment for formatting data without affecting the information captured in the log.
Detail View includes formatting and decoding tools that make XML and URL-encoded data easier to read. You can use the Detail View window to decode URL-encoded information and to display XML data as structured elements. These tools are especially helpful for reading information from the Web Service log, which displays information in XML. In cases where the contents of XML elements are URL-encoded, you may need to use Detail View to first format the XML information and then decode the contents that are URL-encoded.
