The installer configures the Diagnostics Service to automatically start. However, if the Diagnostics Service is not running, it can be started at the same time that the Diagnostics Console is started, as described in the previous procedure, or it can be started like other Windows services. You can run the Diagnostics Service independently of the Diagnostics Console to log messages to files. If you want to run only the Diagnostics Service, ensure the service's configuration allows messages to be logged to file.
To start the Diagnostics Service:
- Select Start | Run to open a Run dialog box.
- Type services.msc and click OK. The Services console is displayed.
- From the list of services, select Hyland Diagnostics Service.
- Click Start Service.
