In the Diagnostics Console you can view historical log files for message types with logging enabled.

Note:

Log files that are read-only cannot be retrieved.

To view historical log files:

  1. Select Machine | Server | Retrieve NTService Logs. The NTService Log Selector is displayed.
  2. Select a message type in the Logs for the NTService section. The Log Files for '[message type]' Log section is populated with logs for the selected message type.
  3. Select a log file and do one of the following:

    • Click View Log File(s) to view the selected log in the Diagnostics Service Log Viewer dialog box.

    • Click View Log Directory to open the file location of the saved log file.
