The Diagnostics Service may not be running on the monitored server. The service must be started either by a local administrator account on the machine where the service is installed or by the NT user account that the service is configured to run under.
To determine if the Diagnostics Service is running and start it if needed:
- Log directly on to the server you want to monitor.
- Select Start | Run.
- Type services.msc and click OK.
- Verify that the Hyland Diagnostics Service is available.
- Right-click on the service and select Start. If the service starts, you can use the Diagnostics Console to monitor the server, and no further steps are required.
- If the service fails to start, right-click the service and select Properties.
- Click the Log On tab.
- Verify that the user account specified has sufficient rights to run services on the server. Ensure the user name and password information is correct.
