Filters are used to display only messages that satisfy specific criteria. For example, you can filter the database log to display only messages logged between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m., or you can display only messages that contain a specific word, such as Exception. Each log can be filtered by as many criteria as needed.
Filters are not saved when log files are saved. Filters remain configured for the duration that the Diagnostics Console is open. When you close the Diagnostics Console, all filters are reset.
