As you troubleshoot an issue, you may want to clear logged messages from the Diagnostics Console so that only messages logged during a specific task are displayed. The Diagnostics Console lets you choose between clearing the selected tab and clearing all tabs. You may want to clear only the selected tab so you can retain any messages previously logged to the other tabs, or you may want to clear all tabs to remove all previously logged messages. If you decide to clear all tabs, only messages logged after the tabs were cleared are displayed.

  • To clear the selected tab, either click Clear Tab from the Diagnostics Console toolbar or select Edit | Clear Tab.

  • To clear all tabs, either click Clear All Tabs from the Diagnostics Console toolbar or select Edit | Clear All Tabs. The Diagnostics Console prompts you to confirm that you want to clear the contents of all diagnostics tabs. Click Yes to clear logged messages from all tabs.
