Information logged to the Diagnostics Console is valuable for diagnosing and troubleshooting issues. When you encounter an issue, you may want to save information from the Diagnostics Console to a file that you can send to a Technical Support representative.

The following topics describe how to save a single log or all logs, and also how to save logs as XLS spreadsheets.

When you save XML logs from the Diagnostics Console, the Diagnostics Console automatically captures system information from the server it is connected to and appends this information to the log. This feature allows system administrators to view information about the server where a message occurred. For additional information about this feature, see Finding Information in Logs.

Note:

If you have configured filters for any logs, the filters are not saved with log file. You can create and apply new filters if you open the log file in the Log Viewer.
