The Log Viewer lets you easily read log files or snapshots that are saved from the Diagnostics Console or created by the Diagnostics Service.
Logs that are saved as XML or JSON can be opened in the Log Viewer, which displays the log in an easy-to-read format that resembles the Diagnostics Console interface. The Log Viewer is especially helpful for reading log files created by the Diagnostics Service.
The Log Viewer can display both XML and JSON log files. Other file types cannot be opened in the Log Viewer.
If you created a shortcut to the Diagnostics Console on your desktop, you can drag and drop log files from your file system onto the shortcut icon. The Log Viewer automatically opens and displays the log.
If the Diagnostics Console or Log Viewer are already open, you can drag-and-drop a log file into the Diagnostic Console or Log Viewer window to display the log in the Log Viewer.
